The Action versus Inaction facing Climate Change (AICC) initiative brings together international experts and leading academics from diverse fields to develop actionable solutions for addressing climate change.
The symposium
As part of the AICC initiative, we are organizing the second AICC Symposium, a three-day event where small interdisciplinary groups (about 9-10 individuals) will tackle critical challenges related to climate change and decarbonization. Each group will examine existing issues, review past efforts, and propose innovative solutions or new approaches to these pressing problems.
The symposium will be an invitation-only event, offering participants a focused, collaborative setting in the Swiss mountains. Experts will work in small workshops of about ten participants, each led by a workshop leader.
The key outcomes from each workshop will include both a presentation at the AICC Conference and the publication of a position paper in an international journal.
Call for Proposals
A total of 3 or 4 workshops will be organized during the symposium.
We invite prospective workshop leaders to submit a proposal for one of the workshops to be held during the symposium. The call is open on any topic focusing on innovative solutions addressing the issues of climate change, including but not limited to decarbonization, renewable energy, carbon capture, circular economy, sustainable transportation, energy efficiency, and environmental policy.
The proposal, that should not exceed two or three pages, should include:
- a title and a brief description of the workshop's topic and objectives, including an overview of the expected contributions,
- a short biography of the workshop leader,
- a list of individuals who will be invited to participate in the workshop.
Please note that a confirmed list of participants is not required at the time of proposal submission. An indicative list of potential participants, who will be invited if the proposal is accepted, will suffice.
Submit your proposal by email to Mila Bender
